About Lisa

Lisa (Huybrechts) Bobby, M. A., LMFT
Lisa is a warm, non-judgmental, insightful, and compassionate person, and she draws on these personal strengths in her work as a therapist. She has a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from a nationally accredited program at the University of Colorado, where she received training as both a General Practitioner as well as specialized training in Couples and Family Therapy. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Colorado. Holding a Marriage and Family Therapy license means that after completing her Master's degree Lisa has also logged thousands of hours with couples under rigorous supervision, and has passed state board exams specific to couples and family therapy. Lisa is currently completing her Doctorate in Counseling Psychology (PhD) from the University of Northern Colorado, in a program accredited by the American Psychological Association.
Lisa has been a featured speaker at Denver Public Library's Fresh City Life lecture series, and has facilitated a variety of workshops, most notably "The Sanctuary of the Self," "Cultivating Joy" and "LOVE your Relationship." She has served as a liaison to the board of the Colorado Psychological Association. She is well established within the mental health community in Denver. She has been working with individuals, couples and families since 2004.
Though Lisa specializes in working with couples, she is also a skilled therapist with many individual clients. She does successful work with people on the path of self discovery, people who are having difficulties in their relationships, or people struggling with feelings of stress, depression, and anxiety.
In addition to being a therapist, Lisa is also a wife, mother, sister, daughter, "auntie" and friend. While not pursuing her education or attending to her clients, she enjoys spending time with her husband of fifteen years, their young son, and her family and friends. In addition to her formal training she draws on her life experiences as a well-rounded person to guide her work with you.
