When Good Relationships Get Violent
It happens. During a fight, harsh words get said. A door is slammed. Things escalate. Something is thrown. Then.... someone is pushed. The other person shoves back. Fights can get violent fast. This occurs more often than you would think, behind closed doors. This experience is often very scary for both partners, leading people to question their relationship.
In this edition of EveryDay Experts I'm speaking with Dr. Aubrey Austin, a therapist with expertise in Domestic Violence, as she shares her wisdom about the difference between abusive relationships and "circumstantial violence," and how to grow through this experience together. Click on the green ("When Good Relationships Get Violent") link below to hear her speak about different kinds of violence in relationships, what growth in this situation looks like, and where to go for help.
If you would like to contact Dr. Austin directly, her contact information can be found on her website: www.reachinghope.org.
