Hello there, I'm Ashlyn. As your couples counselor, life coach or therapist, my desire is that you would experience peace in your life and a deep understanding of your worth. Sometimes life makes these things difficult to experience, and we find ourselves stuck in unhealthy relationships, hurtful patterns, and a life that feels more like surviving instead of thriving.
However, I believe that you are resilient and capable of incredible growth. If we work together I can help you gain new insight into yourself, overcome your roadblocks and achieve your most important goals so that you can experience a more satisfying relationship with yourself and others.
Here's a little more about me, my approach, and the services I provide.
Couples Therapy & Relationship Coaching to Rekindle Your Love
We can experience both incredible growth and incredible hurt through our intimate relationships. While there are many obstacles that couples face, my goal is to provide a safe space and kind support for both of you as you achieve your goals for your relationship.
I help couples become more self-aware and develop skills to rekindle their love. I utilize a thoughtful combination of Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) techniques, which is a research-validated approach to developing trust and meaningful relationships, as well as Physiobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT) techniques. Additionally, I am trained in Level 1 of the Gottman Method and often utilize these evidence-based strategies to help my couples improve their communication, strengthen their foundation, and achieve their goals for their relationship.
All of these approaches support couples in achieving greater connection and providing practical skills for working through difficulties together. Couples who work with me say that they gained more understanding and compassion toward each other and that they feel hopeful about having a healthy, lasting relationship.
I will help you both gain insight and the skills to navigate common challenges as a team, including sexuality (including low sex drive), parenting, and painful life experiences including miscarriage, grief, and affair recovery. .
I love working with all couples, including LBGTQ+ couples, and am excited about the potential of working with you!
Parent Coaching For Joyful Families
In addition to working with couples and individuals, I also love working with families! Family dynamics are beautiful, fun, and incredibly complicated. Sometimes it is helpful to have an outside perspective to decrease conflict, understand each other, and untangle difficult situations.
I enjoy working with parents to increase teamwork around parenting issues, including teen behavior, miscarriage, grief, and divorce. I also provide Emotional Availability parent coaching, which emphasizes skills to foster secure attachment between parents and children. Having emotional availability as a parent is important for your child’s development, as well as your own experience as a parent. Whether you bring your entire family to session or not, my desire is to help you gain skills to increase peace, decrease conflict, and experience harmony in your family relationships.
Powerful, Supportive Life Coaching
Two of the words that my individual clients use to describe me are empathetic and warm. My hope is that you would experience that empathy and safety in our work together, because I am genuinely honored to hear your story and be part of your growth process stories. No matter what you are going through, you will never experience judgment from me but you will gain practical tools to make the changes you want in your life.
I utilize mindfulness to increase self-compassion and awareness of the emotions that are influencing our behavior. I also help you gain insight into your behavior and emotions so that you can make choices in your life that help you achieve your most important personal goals. As you gain confidence, start to heal and grow, and learn to listen to your body, I hope that you would find peace and wisdom for a more wholehearted relationship with yourself and others.
In addition to my coaching services, I am able to provide psychotherapy and mental health treatment to residents of Colorado. I have experience in working with families, couples, and individuals around many diagnoses including substance abuse, depression, anxiety, Traumatic Brain Injury, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD. I also worked with Dr. Susan Hepburn CSU to provide assessment of Autism Spectrum Disorder in children and adults, and to support families as they receive a diagnosis.
One of my goals as a therapist and person is to support those who have traditionally been marginalized, and to make mental health therapy accessible to all populations. I am an LGBTQ+ inclusive and sensitive therapist. I wrote my master’s thesis on improving family quality of life for families who have children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and working with families who have children with disabilities or mental health disorders is a passion of mine.
With my therapy clients I generally utilize interventions from Emotion-Focused Therapy, which is an evidence-based approach to psychotherapy that emphasizes proactive and productive strategies focused on reducing symptoms, building strengths and supporting renewed wellbeing.
A Little About Me
I received my Master of Science in Human Development and Family Studies with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy at Colorado State University. In my free time, I enjoy reveling in Colorado’s beauty through biking and hiking, and also enjoy reading, painting, and spending time with friends.
I would love the opportunity to work with you! Currently I am available to meet with you through online video, as well as our office locations in Denver (Cherry Creek and Greenwood Village). I invite you to schedule a free consultation with me so we can talk about you and your goals, and how I can help you achieve them.
