Hi, I’m Stephanie.
Stephanie Manning, M.A., LMFT-C
I have been helping couples, families, and individuals grow for over a decade as a marriage counselor, transformational therapist and strategic life coach. I have been told that my approach is warm, but also positive, and even fun. I love working with my clients to find hopeful new solutions to old problems, and sharing in their excitement as they make positive changes. I am passionate about helping you discover clarity and find direction toward inner happiness, wellness, and peace no matter what current situation you are facing.
Powerful Therapy and Life Coaching
Many clients come to me feeling stuck. I know we all go through ups and downs in life, I also believe that hard times can be an incredible opportunity for growth with the right support and guidance.
I primarily work by helping people gain insight into their thoughts, behaviors, and feelings and understand how those things impact their relationship with the world around them — whether as individuals, or in relationships.
I strive to provide an empathetic, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where you will feel safe enough to explore yourself and get in touch with who you really are and what you need. I believe that you are the expert on your own life. My role is to help you become aware of patters that may be having a negative impact on your life and relationships and offer help in creating new, productive patterns for you to implement going forward.
All About Relationships
I have a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Colorado, and I’m also a married mom of two. I know how important — and how complex — relationships and family life can be. I am enthusiastic about helping couples reconnect with one another and rebuild the bonds between them that can often be broken by unexpected life obstacles. I also love helping families learn new ways to connect, be closer, and have more fun together.
Marriage Counseling & Relationship Coaching
If you’ve been struggling with your relationship, I can help you sort through your areas of conflict to discover the deeper, underlying reasons behind feelings of disconnection or unhappiness. From there, we can create new, lasting plans to successfully move forward in a direction that is both healthy for both of you individually as well as the relationship as a whole.
In addition to helping established couples and families flourish and grow together, I love helping engaged couples start their marriages off on the right foot through smart premarital counseling.
I start by using a 300+ question comprehensive assessment to see which areas of your relationship are strong and healthy, and where we can work to prevent possible problems from popping up in the future.
I’ll teach you both ways of communicating, solving problems, working as a team, and keeping your love strong so that you can embark upon the adventure of marriage confidently.
I have many years of experience in working with kids, adolescents and their parents. I especially love helping new parents transition from being a couple to being a family after baby comes. For families with older kids I can help parents create effective ways of communicating and relating that will help restore the peace and order in your home. I also enjoy helping couples get on the same page when it comes to parenting styles, and expectations — particularly in blended family situations.
Because I focus on helping people have happy, healthy relationships in all stages of life, I am extremely helpful to my clients who are looking to create a healthy new relationship. If you are trying to “find the one” I can help you with everything from how to start meeting the right people, to identifying “red flags,” to overcoming relationship patterns that may have created problems for you in the past. If you’re looking for love, I am here as your “wing woman!” (Professionally speaking, of course).
In my practice, it is important for me to use evidenced-based treatment strategies in my work with clients to ensure I am providing the best possible care. I integrate concepts from Solution-Focused Behavioral Therapy and Attachment Theory into my work. In working with couples, I utilized Emotionally Focused Therapy to help partners focus on restoring the attachment bonds between them that are necessary for each person to feel a sense of safety and love in the relationship.
As an [almost] Colorado native, I am excited to have a family and career in the place that I grew up in. I am a wife and mother of two children. I have invaluable personal life experience relevant to relationship work. I also have professional experience working with individuals and families who have been impacted by mental illness, addictions, grief and loss, parenting struggles, and high-risk behaviors with adolescent children.
In addition to my Master’s Degree and years of experience working in the field, I am currently in the process of completing my PhD in Counseling Psychology / Counselor Ed at the University of Northern Colorado.
