Therapist Overview

Hi, I’m Susan! As a career counselor, life coach, and individual counselor, my goal is to make you feel comfortable and heard while you share your story with me. I have a warm, honest, and open style, and provide a relaxed environment where we can develop a strong working relationship. It is so important to meet you where you are! I will walk alongside you, providing guidance and support throughout your journey.

My approach is collaborative and growth-oriented. I also integrate creativity, not only as part of my lens to work with you effectively but also by encouraging you to dive into your own creative energy and use it as a tool in your personal and professional development.

I draw upon a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Information Processing Theory, tailoring my approach to fit your unique needs.

I offer therapy services to residents of Colorado and coaching services to individuals throughout the country and internationally.

Career Counseling and Coaching

Do you feel lost when it comes to your career path? Is it time to make a big career change? Or maybe you’re happy on your current path, but you need some support to reach the next level of success.

I know what it’s like to make those transitions, and I am passionate about helping you find a career path that feels fulfilling to you. Whether you’re trying to find the job of your dreams, or you already have the job of your dreams, I can help you achieve professional success in whatever capacity that may be.

I strive to understand your deepest values and most important personal goals, so we can navigate this transition in a way that feels positive and productive to you. I can help you with career exploration, job hunting, writing a resume, salary negotiation, and everything in between.

Through the career exploration process, we will work together to uncover your strengths, skills, interests, and values through the use of assessments and meaningful conversations. My goal is to help you find clarity during the exploration phase.

If you are ready to dive into the job search process, I can assist you with job hunting, by finding success strategies to help you apply for jobs and write or edit your resume. I can also prepare you for interviews by reviewing common questions and practicing a mock interview to help you work through any pre-interview anxiety.

Once you get the job, I can help you negotiate your salary or benefits, manage work-related stress, create work-life balance, handle a career transition or position change, and find strategies to grow your network. Together, we can create an action-oriented plan to achieve your career development goals.

Individual Counseling in Colorado

In addition to career counseling and coaching, I also provide individual counseling services to residents of Colorado. I offer a space where you can feel safe to be unapologetically honest. I value compassion and seek to understand who you are as a person. You are the expert on your life — my role is to be there to offer guidance and to support your healing.

In individual therapy, I can help you with symptoms of anxiety and depression, as well as healing from painful life experiences. Together, we will develop new ways of thinking that support you in creating authentic happiness and fulfillment.

I view counseling as a journey, a way to explore and increase your awareness. Once we understand the issues, we can identify action steps toward a healthier, happier you. I recognize that everyone is unique. When it comes to counseling, this means that one size does not fit all. I will collaborate with you to uncover your hopes and goals to guide the direction of our work together.

I draw upon evidence-based forms of therapy, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). I can help you challenge thoughts and narratives that no longer serve you and identify new ones that will better support you in achieving your goals. From there, we will be able to develop a plan of action and practice new skills, so you can triumphantly overcome obstacles and live your most dynamic story!

Life Coaching

Are you ready to take action toward building the life you want for yourself? Are you not sure what to change or where to start? If you are looking for self-improvement and personal growth, coaching could be right for you!

We all experience life transitions and unexpected hardships. Sometimes we need to see things from a different perspective and find clarity in order to move forward. I can help you cope with stressors, overcome difficulties, re-examine your current ideas, and gain the clarity you may be searching for. We can work together to challenge thoughts that are holding you back, so you can live in a way that reflects your authentic self and who you want to be.

My goal in life coaching is to arm you with skills to solve problems successfully and meet challenges on your own. I hope to help you achieve your purpose by creating a concrete plan of action that will result in meaningful change.

About Me

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University, as well as a Master of Arts degree in Counseling and Career Development, specializing in career counseling, from Colorado State University. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor, recognized by the National Board for Certified Counselors. I am also a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate in the state of Colorado.

I was born and raised in Texas. After leaving Texas A&M, I took a break in between my degrees to work in corporate environments, before going back to school and moving to Colorado. Thanks to this experience, I understand what it’s like to change course in life.

While I prefer the beach to the mountains, I still love living in Colorado. I enjoy spending time outside, reading, attending baseball games (go ‘stros!), exploring new places, and working on anything creative.
