All of our experts have a master’s degree or doctorate in counseling, marriage and family therapy, or clinical psychology from an accredited university, and are qualified mental health providers who use evidence-based approaches in therapy. We have providers qualified to practice in multiple states across the US, and in international locations too (including numerous provinces in Canada).

All have at least a master’s degree or doctorate from an accredited university, with specific education and credentialing in career counseling, career coaching, leadership development, human development across the lifespan and/or organizational psychology.
How Do I Contact My Counselor or Coach?
You can call our office and simply ask to speak with your counselor or coach, and our receptionist will connect you.
You can also send an email to your clinician by responding to your initial appointment confirmation email, and your coach or counselor will receive your message.
Once you have attended your consultation, your coach or counselor will provide you with their @growingself.com email address. If you don’t receive their email, please contact our office – we’ll provide you with their direct contact information. You can call the office at (720) 370-1800 or email us at hello@growingself.com.
Can I Meet by Zoom?
If you scheduled an online video meeting, the email confirmation contains a link to connect with your counselor or coach through confidential online video. We maintain a HIPAA-compliant Zoom platform.
Simply click on the provided Zoom link in your confirmation email at the time of your call, and you’ll be connected. If you are attending couples coaching with a long-distance partner, forward them the confirmation email so they have the link as well.
If you haven’t used Zoom before, please watch this short (60-second) video for a brief overview of how to use Zoom to ensure you’re ready for your first call: Click to Watch.
Pro Tip: Please allow Zoom access to your device’s camera and microphone before your scheduled meeting so we can see and hear you!
If you scheduled an in-person meeting and would like to meet by Zoom (or phone) instead, that is perfectly fine. Simply reply to your confirmation email letting your expert know you’d like to meet by Zoom. They’ll get the message and send you their Zoom link.
Can I Get Directions to Your Office?
Certainly! When you schedule your first consultation appointment, you’ll receive a confirmation email check-in with detailed directions to our office (plus a Google Maps link) and instructions to check in and connect with your counselor or coach in person.
Here are map links to our office locations:
- Denver / Cherry Creek: 720 S Colorado Blvd, N Tower Penthouse, Denver, CO 80246
- Broomfield, CO: 390 Interlocken Crescent, Suite 350, Broomfield, CO 80021
Can I Cancel or Reschedule my Appointment?
No problem. If you scheduled a first consultation or a solution session, simply open your confirmation email and scroll to the “Cancel or Reschedule” buttons at the bottom of the email.
If you are a current client, you can cancel or reschedule your meeting through your online Client Portal Account or by contacting your expert directly.
If you have any questions or trouble trying to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please contact our office by calling 720-370-1800 (+1-844-331-1993 for international callers).
How Do I Access my Client Portal Account?
Access your client portal account through this link or by clicking on the “More Info” link in the menu at the top of our website. You’ll see “client portal” near the bottom of the list.
First Login: Create your account using the information sent to you via email after your first session.
Here is a tutorial showing you how to log in and access all the features of your portal.
You will always access your client portal by logging in using this link: SimplePractice and then checking your email for a direct link to your client portal.
Note: If you attend two different services (e.g., couples counseling and individual coaching), you will have two different accounts attached to two separate email addresses to ensure your privacy.
You can use your portal account to upload documents, view upcoming appointments, access your statements, and request future appointments with your expert.
How Can I Access my Statements or Billing Information?
You can access and download your statements and check your account activity through your online Client Portal Account.
If you would like to update your billing information, please contact our office by emailing Rachel at billing@growingself.com or by calling our main desk at either 720-370-1800 or +1-844-331-1993 for international callers.

Before you get involved with counseling or coaching, through Growing Self or elsewhere you need to know this: Not all approaches to counseling and coaching are the same. You can spend a lot of time and money in therapy and coaching that does not produce the outcomes you want, so it’s important to learn about the kinds that work.
Evidence-based approaches have been found by research to be genuinely effective in helping you create real and lasting change. Unless therapy or coaching is grounded in these evidence-based approaches, it can feel wishy-washy and ineffective.
Learn about the different evidence-based counseling and coaching types we practice here at Growing Self by visiting our “Evidence-Based Practice” article. That way, you can decide which approach is best for you.
Questions About Getting Started:
We specialize in helping our clients create Love, Happiness and Success through positive, effective, evidence-based counseling and coaching.
Creating real and lasting change in the most significant parts of your life is not an “event” but rather a growth process. This growth process begins when you enter into a relationship with an expert therapist or coach who helps you understand yourself, grow as a person, and learn new skills and strategies that enable you to create positive change. This growth process occurs over time, step-by-step.
Because you’ll be working closely with your therapist or coach for a period of time, it’s essential that you feel good about who you work with. That’s why we offer a free consultation meeting so you can get to know your coach or counselor and discuss your hopes and goals to ensure it’s a good fit before moving forward.
If you would like to bypass the consultation session and jump right in, you can schedule a solution session instead.
We understand that making real and lasting change in yourself, strengthening your relationship, and finding meaning and satisfaction in your career have value that cannot be calculated in dollars and cents. That’s why we bring you the very best, most effective counseling and coaching with highly trained and carefully vetted experts.
Your rate per session will vary depending on which expert you work with (we have “more affordable” and “more experienced” experts) but will generally fall between $75 and $170 per 45-minute session. If you choose to have longer sessions they will be pro-rated accordingly. You can choose to work with a more experienced expert, or you can select a more affordable expert who may be able to offer you income-based sliding scale rates.
Here is more information about the rates and value of our specific services:
- How much does marriage counseling cost?
- How much does premarital counseling cost?
- How much does dating coaching cost?
- How much does therapy cost?
- How much does life coaching cost?
- How much does career counseling cost?
Please review our rates and insurance page for detailed information about the pricing of our providers so that you can select the expert that will best meet your needs and your budget.
Under certain circumstances, we can help you utilize your insurance benefits if your work with us meets some specific criteria.
We specialize in helping our clients create Love, Happiness and Success. Our clients work with us to achieve personal growth, healthy relationships, self-improvement, and professional success through positive, effective counseling and coaching.
However, health insurance does not pay for personal growth, self-improvement, or better relationships. Health insurance covers “behavioral healthcare that is a medically necessary treatment for a psychiatric condition.” Clinicians on our team at Growing Self are licensed mental health professionals, and they can assist you in resolving mild mental health concerns (anxiety, depression, etc.). Still, we do not specialize in psychiatric treatment.
Therefore, many of our core services (couples counseling, career coaching, life coaching, dating coaching) are not considered “medically necessary treatments.”
Learn more about whether (or when) insurance covers specific services:
- Does insurance cover marriage counseling?
- Does insurance cover therapy?
- Does insurance cover coaching?
- Does insurance cover premarital counseling?
If you are a proactive person on a path of self-actualization and life satisfaction to achieve your most precious goals, better yourself and improve your relationships — you are in the right place. Learn more about all of your affordable options, see the rates of the different providers on our team, and learn whether we can help you use your insurance benefits on our rates and insurance page.
Creating real and lasting change in your life is not an “event.” It’s a process that occurs over time — typically over weeks to months of work with a dedicated therapist or coach who can help you gain self-awareness, learn new skills and strategies, and change how you think, feel, and behave.
About Consultation Sessions
Because getting involved with a therapist or coach is such a meaningful, potentially long-term relationship, we offer a free consultation so you can ensure it’s a good fit before moving forward.
During the consultation, you will have an opportunity to meet with the counselor or coach of your choice to talk about your hopes and goals, learn about them, and make sure it feels like the right match for you before embarking on private counseling or coaching.
Are you interested in getting started? You can Schedule Your Free Consultation Session here.
About Solution Sessions
If you are looking to either bypass the consultation and jump right into the work, OR if you’d like to simply meet for a one-time coaching session to talk about a specific issue and get some direction, you can schedule a Solution Session instead.
A Solution Session is a 45-minute coaching session where you can talk, at length, about what’s been going on and get personalized recommendations that will move you forward. You’ll leave with a written plan of action and no strings attached (although you can certainly meet with your coach again if you’d like to). We charge $115 for this service.
Are you interested in getting started? You can Schedule Your Solution Session here.
To get started with a free consultation, please fill out this appointment request form, and our client services specialist will be in touch to help match you with the right expert for your hopes and goals. If you have someone specific you’d like to work with, please feel free to share that in your form notes so our client services specialist can help coordinate your free consultation accordingly.
If you would like a one-time, solution-focused coaching session, you can schedule a solution session here.
We understand that connecting with the right counselor or coach can be a life-changing experience, and we encourage you to make this decision carefully. We offer a free consultation session for you to meet with the expert you’re considering to get to know them, ask questions, and make sure you feel comfortable before moving forward.
We know that you are here because you are interested in making changes in the most important parts of your life, and we take our responsibility to you very seriously. You are on the cusp of a potentially life-changing experience. Our goal is for you to feel supported every step of the way in this vital and valuable personal growth process that you deserve to have.

We have in-person office locations in the Denver metro area: Denver/Cherry Creek and Broomfield, Colorado.

Currently, our solution sessions are only available online or by phone.
What about THIS?
Yes! We love working with long-distance couples via online video. Simply schedule your appointment and forward the confirmation email you receive (containing the Zoom link) to your partner.
Then, at the time of your appointment, you can both click on the link (from separate devices) to be joined with your expert for a three-way HIPAA-compliant Zoom video call.
Pro Tip: Double check your appointment’s time zone if you and your partner reside in different time zones. We’d hate for one of you to accidentally miss the meeting!
Great question! That depends on a few variables, including your goals, your current circumstances, and where you are in your growth process.
Often, people start by scheduling weekly sessions. As they gain traction, they may move to every-other-week meetings (or longer) to have more time to practice the new ways of being they’re learning in their sessions.
Your counselor or coach will give you their honest recommendations once they learn more about you and your unique situation.
Our experts do not engage in text or email correspondence other than for routine matters like scheduling or following up with you, nor do we consider this type of interaction to be equivalent to actual therapy or coaching.
We provide real, meaningful, powerful, evidence-based counseling and coaching designed to help you create lasting change in yourself, your life, and your relationships. We do not consider “text therapy” to be helpful or ethical, nor anything like the kind of experience that you deserve to have.
Effective therapy and coaching that results in real and lasting growth and change is an experiential process. It involves having an authentic relationship with a therapist or coach who can see you and hear you so that they can truly know you, understand you, and help you. Meeting face-to-face online allows your coach to read your body language, see the fleeting expression on your face after they ask a challenging question, or notice if you’re experiencing a big emotion. That’s why your work with us is transformational.
If we work together, you’ll have a real relationship with a real coach or therapist invested in you.
You’re an individual with a one-of-a-kind life. We offer you an authentic growth experience, which means we both need to show up authentically. We’re ready to do that with you.
If you are seeking text or email correspondence with a therapist you would be better served by a different organization.
Schedule a solution session if you’d like to speak with a coach ASAP. Same-day or next-day appointments are often available.
You can dive into your situation with a caring coach and get feedback and guidance. You’ll get a written action plan sent after you meet with personalized recommendations and things you can do to move forward.
You can learn more about solution sessions by visiting our “solution session” page.
We do not offer free counseling or coaching. However, we provide many free resources available to you via our website, including expert Love, Happiness and Success advice on our blog and podcast, free online quizzes, and daily doses of guidance and inspiration via Dr. Lisa’s Instagram and our Growing Self Instagram account.
If you need free mental services or are in crisis, please check out our “Emergency Resources” page.
Alternatively, you can search for “Community Mental Health Center in [your town].” These government-funded local agencies often have free or low-cost services available and access to caseworkers who can help you apply for benefits and connect you to other free or low-cost local resources.
We have a 48-hour cancellation policy (except in the case of illness or emergency) for regular, ongoing counseling or coaching appointments.
If you pre-pay for a solution session or a class and then change your mind, it’s okay – cancel your appointment and let us know you’d like a refund.
Please do keep in mind that we are real people! When you schedule an appointment, a helpful, dedicated professional has blocked out the time for you in anticipation of your meeting. Out of consideration for them, we request at least 48 hours advance notice.
To view your upcoming appointments, or cancel / reschedule upcoming sessions, please log into your secure online client account portal to make any necessary changes.
