Welcome To Growing Self Counseling & Coaching
Dr. Lisa Marie Bobby
Founder & Director of Growing Self Counseling & Life Coaching
Dr. Lisa Marie Bobby, LMFT, BCC
Just like you, I’ve had to grow and evolve throughout my life. Through my growth experiences I realized the most meaningful thing for me is to be of service to other people — as a wife and mom, “auntie” and friend, but also in my career. (Here’s my “origin story”). With my particular blend of interests and talents I decided that the best way for me to be helpful to others was as a counselor. So, off I went to counseling school.
Marriage Counselor, Therapist, and Life Coach
I’ve since earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Colorado. This trained me as a general practitioner therapist, and also gave me specialized training as a Marriage and Family Therapist. I decided that I loved my career so much that I wanted to continue my education, so I then earned a PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado to become a Psychologist. After all that, I decided to became a Board Certified Life Coach. Now I have a decade of experience helping people create more Love, Happiness, and Success in their lives and I’m here, ready to help you too.
Available In Denver, Across America, and Internationally
I help my clients create more love, happiness and success through marriage counseling and relationship coaching, life coaching, and individual therapy. I meet with individuals and couples all over the world because I specialize in online life coaching, online marriage counseling and online therapy. ( You can learn more about online therapy here.) If you prefer in-person services, that’s no problem: We have three offices in the Metro Denver area including our Denver Colorado office (in Cherry Creek), our Broomfield Colorado location (just south of Boulder Colorado), and our Denver Tech Center location (just off Bellevue and I-25), as well as physical office locations in Austin, Texas and s, California.
Let’s Talk About Love, Happiness and Success
In addition to my work with clients, I’m a writer and speaker. I’m the author of “Exaholics: Breaking Your Addiction to Your Ex Love” (available at Barnes and Noble, and on Amazon.com) and I blog about “Love, Happiness and Success” at www.drlisabobby.com.
I am the host of The “Love, Happiness & Success” Podcast (available on iTunes), I’ve been featured on multiple national news stations (FOX 5 NYC, Denver CBS News, Denver 7, Denver FOX 31, FOX 35 Orlando) as a relationship expert, and featured in Time.com, the New York Post, Natural Health Magazine, HuffPost Live, SiriusXM (Doctor Radio), Reign Magazine, Self.com, DatingAdvice.com, and the Marilou Henner Show.
I’m one of nine national Dating Coaches trained at the world headquarters of Match.com. I’m the lead “ExPert” on breakup recovery for Exaholics.com, I’ve hosted personal development events through the “Fresh City Life” educational series through the Denver Public Library, and I’ve served on the board of the Colorado Psychological Association.
This Isn’t About Me: It’s About YOU.
My training and credentials mean nothing if they don’t help you. I believe that you deserve to have a life full of love, happiness and success. My unique blend of expertise as a Marriage Counselor, Therapist, and Life Coach, helps me work with individuals and couples on several levels simultaneously using a variety of evidence-based strategies. As a therapist, I can help you understand yourself on a deep, core level – the level where powerful, transformational, lasting changes happen. As a Licensed Marriage Counselor, I can help you understand how to have better relationships. My training as a Board Certified Life Coach allows me to help you take action, and begin practicing the day-to-day strategies that will actually transform your life.
Growing Self Brings You The Best
I love being a therapist, marriage counselor and life coach, and being helpful partner to people on their journey of growth. It’s incredibly meaningful and rewarding to me.
But awhile ago, I realized that it was impossible for me to work one-on-one with everybody. Furthermore, I strongly believe that life-changing personal growth work shouldn’t be a luxury only available for a privileged few.
I decided that (in addition to working with clients personally) I could be of more service to the world by creating a network of smart, experienced, kind and effective therapists and counselors. I scour the globe to find the best talent, and make their services accessible to you in a convenient and affordable format. I work with everyone my team directly, so even if we don’t get to meet personally I’ll still be involved in your case.
Free Help, On Demand: Advice, Podcasts, Online Classes
I believe that my highest purpose is to help people grow, become stronger and happier, and strengthen their relationships and families. That is why I’m here to support your growth in every way — whether or not you choose to work with us.
Here at GrowingSelf.com you’ll find a blog that is full of articles and free advice intended to help you. You can listen to the Love, Happiness and Success Podcast which focuses on bringing you helpful, actionable guidance. You can also take our online Happiness Class, that offers you the same ideas and skills that we teach our private clients in an inexpensive, online format.
I’m so glad you’ve found us, and given us the opportunity to support you on your journey of growth and change – either through this website, or through a personal relationship with a coach or counselor. Couples Counselor, Sex Therapy, Breakup Recovery, Individual Therapy
Chelsea Twiss, PhD, LP-C
Connection, Creativity & Growth
Hello! My name is Chelsea. Throughout my life, I’ve always seen healthy relationships and connection with others as central to happiness and well-being. As a couples counselor, individual therapist and life coach I greatly enjoy working with couples and individuals to help improve relationships in all areas of life.
I can also help you get more connected with yourself and your personal strengths so that you feel more confident and hopeful about your life as well as your relationships.
I'm passionate about helping couples work through their issues so that they can feel happy, cared for, and satisfied in their relationships. I have specialized training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. I can help you both understand yourselves, and each other, so that you can create new, positive ways of relating instead of getting stuck in old patterns.
I feel that it's helpful to look at the relationship strategies you learned in your family growing up, and how those may be playing out in your current relationship — for better or for worse. I can help you talk about important things that aren't being talked about, and improve your communication. Through authentic, emotionally safe communication, you can restore your bond, and learn how to work together as a team.
In addition to couples counseling, I also have expertise in sex therapy and can help both couples and individuals work through issues related to sexuality. If you are having trouble connecting to your partner sexually, if you and your partner have mismatched levels of desire, if you are carrying old and unhelpful messages about sex, if you feel insecure when it comes to sex, or are questioning your sexuality, I can help.
Through safe, judgment-free, and compassionate conversations we can address these vulnerable things to help you connect with others the way you'd like to; emotionally, as well as sexually.
Individual Therapy & Coaching
I have experience in working with people from all types of backgrounds, and I especially enjoy helping people discover their talents and strengths and grow in positive ways. While I'm ultimately focused on helping you create a different future, I believe that it is important to understand yourself first. With that understanding, I can help you begin to create a new story for yourself: One where you're in control and can create the type of life and relationships that you want.
I have experience in working with people who are recovering from traumatic breakups or divorces. I have found that the path of healing comes through finding closure, understanding why things happened the way they did, and learning from the experience. I've found that through this work you can grow as a person, and actually feel stronger and more confident going forward.
I also enjoy helping people develop high-quality relationships where they feel valued and respected. If you've been feeling disconnected from other people and like it's hard to find a sense of belonging, I can help. If you keep dating the wrong people only to be disappointed, I can help you identify why, and change that pattern.
Most importantly, I can help you have a better relationship with yourself. If you've been struggling with low self-esteem, or feeling lonely, or have been engaging in self-destructive behaviors that you know aren't good for you, I can help you make positive changes that help you feel good about yourself and your life.
Life Coaching & Creativity Coaching
In addition to my work with individuals and couples around matters of the heart, I enjoy helping people discover their gifts and create meaningful lives. In particular, as an artist myself, I feel a special kinship with other creatives looking to find a place in the world for their unique voice. I can help you find outlets for your self-expression, manage the anxiety and insecurity that many artists have, and build a balanced life that is respectful of both your art and the demands of daily life.
I grew up in the Pacific Northwest on the Olympic Peninsula and spent the first 25 years of my life living in various parts of Washington State. I also lived in Germany for a year in my teens and was very grateful to have the experience of living abroad for some time. I moved down to New Mexico in order to complete my Ph.D. at New Mexico State University and fell in love with life in the desert.
I currently live in Fort Collins, Colorado and have been enjoying all the natural beauty that Colorado has to offer. I’ve been playing guitar and composing original music since the age of 15. I continue to be actively involved in the music and art communities where I live. Playing music is my greatest form of self-care in addition to being outdoors walking and hiking with my dog on a regular basis. I also greatly enjoy writing short stories and poetry in my free time. These activities are crucial to me in order to stay grounded in the midst of a busy life.
I hope that my collection of personal and professional experiences are useful to you in your journey to improving your personal well-being and strengthening your connections with others.

Warm, Authentic and Empowering
Hi, I’m Sharmishtha. I’m a Counselor and a Life Coach with a passion for helping people discover their true selves, and find inner peace and self confidence both within themselves and in their relationships. I particularly enjoy working with clients who may be dealing with relationship concerns such as communication issues, breakups or conflicting attachment styles. I also enjoy helping people develop a stronger, more empowered sense of themselves, whether it be about their race/ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, culture, and/or immigration status. I can help you get clear about who you are, what you need to be happy, and how to create it in your life, relationships and career.
As a Life Coach
I can help you with a range of issues, including low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and career concerns. I believe in using evidence-based techniques and building a warm, collaborative alliance with my clients to help solve their problems.
As a “Love” Coach
While I don’t provide couples counseling, I’m all about helping you as an individual manage and thrive in the most important relationships in your life. Difficulties with communication, trust, sexual intimacy, and attachment styles are all issues with which I’ve worked. Breakup recovery is another important area of focus that I’m here to support you with.
As a Career Coach
Whether you are a fresh graduate, a career changer, or well-established in your field, I’m here to help with anything from resume writing to dealing with stress, feeling like you’re stuck in a job, or any number of work concerns with which you’re looking for support. Career issues can be emotionally difficult and I’m here to help you get unstuck and find your way forward.
I’m Here For You
I want to help you, wherever you are in the world, to feel a sense of safety, non judgment, validation, empowerment, self-awareness, and self-acceptance that can better foster change, awareness, and growth. I have been told I’m an accepting, safe-feeling counselor and coach. My aim is to provide a safe, calm environment that allows us to form a genuine relationship, collaborate on mutual goals, and first identify, then break down the barriers keeping you from living your most authentic and empowered life.
I grew up in a multicultural environment, moving from India to Singapore as a child and attending an international high school until coming to the United States for my undergraduate degree. Because of my own life experiences I am very aware that to many around the world, seeking professional counseling or coaching is something you do only when there is something wrong with you; it implies abnormality.
Because I grew up with this mentality, I waited almost two years before making a first appointment at the Student Health Services at my university. When I filled out the intake form, I hesitated at the question, “What brought you here?” After a few minutes, I wrote, “Recent death in the family.” I thought this was an appropriately heavy reason to want to see a counselor, and while it was true, it hid many other reasons that had prompted me to make the appointment.
Although I have always been an introspective person and have found my own ways to reflect, talking to that first counselor and vocalizing my inner thoughts helped me recognize that so many of the things I had internalized over my life were common problems experienced during adolescence and college, but ones I had never been able to express or fully understand. That experience showed me just how valuable a space like that is, and inspired me to pursue counseling as a career path for myself. I now provide others with a space that allows them reflection, validation, and understanding without judgment, as well as new ideas, skills and strategies to foster personal growth.
I am a graduate of Columbia University, with a Master of Arts and a Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling. I am fluent in both English and Hindi.

Transformational Life Coaching & Couples Counseling
For years I’ve worked with couples and individuals to identify patterns that keep them locked into routines which only cause disconnection, frustration, and loss of hope. Using proven techniques from leading researchers in the field, I've helped many individuals and couples develop new rituals of connection, spark intimacy, and renew zest for life.
I look forward to supporting you on this quest of asking questions, finding answers, and ultimately making choices that pull you closer to your dreams — both for yourself, and your relationship.
Connection, passion, joy, and peace are just a few of the words we may use to describe what an ideal life feels like. If we’re so strongly pulled towards these feelings why do many of us find them elusive? Our time together will begin by identifying what the feelings would look like in your life and then developing a blueprint for attaining them. Accountability and refocusing through coaching and counseling helps you stay on course or change course if need be.
Our thoughts make up our beliefs, our beliefs shape our language, and our language makes up our reality. It's a process we will dissect together to find the kinks in the system. Working with me, you can trust you’re working with a coach/counselor who stays up-to-date with the most well-researched techniques to support you in attaining a life full of experiences and emotions that make up a vibrant reality.
Sonya graduated with honors from Azusa Pacific University in 2013 with a Masters in Clinical Psychology, emphasis Marriage and Family Therapy. Since graduation, Sonya has been trained in Gottman Level 1 and 2, Emotionally Focused Family Therapy, and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Career Coach, Life Coach, Executive Coach, ADHD Coach, Therapist
Maggie Graham, M.Ed., LPC, CPCC
Kind, Thoughtful, Life and Career Coach
"Hi, I’m Maggie. I’m a career coach, a life coach, and a therapist. Over the years I’ve helped my clients grow into fulfilling new careers, as well as become happier, healthier people. I’m a therapist, with experience in helping people overcome things like poor body image, difficult life transitions, self confidence, and anxiety. But in addition to my counseling background, I have Master’s Degrees in Career Development and Special Education, and I’m a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) with years of experience in career coaching, and leadership coaching. This all makes me perfectly suited to help you overcome obstacles, use your strengths, and get engaged with a lifestyle and career that you feel really great about."
"In addition to helping you get clarity about what you want to do, I can help you get the job. I’m a certified resume writer, so I can help you get your foot in the door. My background as a leadership coach can help you be extremely well prepared for your interviews. But more importantly, I know that having a satisfying career is about more than just the job. Our work can help you create a whole, happy, balanced life that is meaningful and enjoyable on every level."
"If we work together we’ll talk about your whole world: who’s influencing you, how money factors in, what makes you back away with an “ick” expression on your face, and what makes your heart open. It’s all fair game because we can’t just take a pie wedge slice out of your life and call it “career” and let it stand in isolation. Who you are at work is intricately tied to who you are at home. If you’re frustrated at work, how does that fit with the rest of your life? Are you in the midst of a new, unfamiliar phase of your career, or are you going through something that feels eerily familiar, where you find yourself whispering “not again” to yourself? Are you in a toxic work environment? Or are you being challenged to grow, personally and professionally? Our work together will help you identify your “growth opportunities” and give you new tools to create a new reality."
"In addition to addressing your satisfaction with your career, we can explore things like your health and your work / life balance. I have specialized training and experience in helping people with ADHD become organized, competent and successful. I’ve coached people through weight loss and unhealthy eating patterns, and into a healthy, active lifestyle. I’ve supported people in healing compulsions such as overusing digital media, or video game / porn addiction, so that they live enriching lives, connected to people who matter to them. I know how to help you manage the stress, anxiety, or depression that could get in the way of your personal and professional success."
"Why would you want to share your deeply personal stories about career and work with me? First, because I want to hear them. I want to hear about where you’ve been illuminated with excitement in the past and where you’ve stumbled – together, we’ll make sense of it. Second, I’ve done my fair share of both triumphant fist-pumping and despair-ridden sobbing, so I recognize the potholes on these roads. Finally, I can share some tools with you that will invite clarity about your direction and move you towards what you want to create in your career."
"Back to you: what do you want to create for yourself professionally? Who do you want to grow into on this journey? What’s in the way of you living the life you want? Let’s explore these questions, together."
Maggie is available to meet with you in person in Fort Collins, Colorado, as well as across the US and internationally through online video.

Three of my most salient traits are: an openness and unconditional acceptance of the thoughts of others, a willingness and patience to work through problems, and a strategic way of doing so. My life has been deeply influenced by my world travels, which have given me a unique ability to understand different perspectives, especially the intricacies of combining cultures, religions and belief systems.
At this point in my life, there is little you can tell me that will surprise or shock me. My clients know that they can share anything with me and that I do everything in my power to help them. As you know, the mind is complex and so are our lives. Our thoughts are rooted in our experiences, both past and present, and are affected by mood, assumptions, and expectations. Through our work together, I will help you manage those automatic thoughts that cause anxiety, sadness, jealousy, and anger. Whether I am your Coach or Psychotherapist, I will be your ally and together, we will find you the balance and happiness that you want and deserve.

"In addition to my work with private career coaching clients I work closely with organizations to help their teams manage job stress, improve their personal productivity, and develop more cohesive and satisfying working relationships. We break down the goals into manageable action steps that bring you progressively closer to your objective. I’m a believer in “homework” meaning we create smaller goals that you complete in between sessions, so that we can address unexpected obstacles along the way.
